Never Flying American Airlines Again | Jim Breuer Reacts

In this video, comedian Jim Breuer recounts a frustrating experience with American Airlines while traveling home from Honolulu with his wife.

The Incident in Honolulu

Breuer explains that he "splurged" thousands of dollars on two first-class tickets for a red-eye flight from Honolulu to Fort Myers [00:59]. Despite having confirmed tickets and even pre-ordering their meals weeks in advance [02:44], they were called to the counter just before boarding. A supervisor named Mark informed them they were being downgraded to row 18 in economy because the flight was "overbooked" [07:52].

Allegations of Employee Seating

Breuer strongly disputes the "overbooked" claim, noting that he saw a crew of American Airlines workers (including a pilot with flowers) being assigned seats at the counter right before his downgrade [03:58, 06:22]. Upon boarding, he claims he saw that first class was filled with employees while he and his wife were moved to the back of the plane [09:58, 18:24]. He also mentions that a customer service representative later told him the flight was not actually overbooked [22:52].

Frustrations with Customer Service

Breuer expresses anger over the lack of a human response from the airline. He mentions receiving only an "AI-generated" apology email and offers of a $500 voucher and a partial refund of $400, which he feels is inadequate given the thousands spent on the original tickets [11:53, 28:48]. He concludes by stating he will never fly American Airlines again and warns viewers to be cautious about their seat assignments [15:49, 31:04].
